Renovation Work Stallings Homeowners Actually Need

Greater Charlotte Contracting handles home renovation in Stallings, NC, covering everything from roofing and siding to full kitchen remodels and bathroom overhauls. The owner brings more than 20 years of hands-on construction experience to every project, and that's not a company statistic. He's on your job site, not managing it from an office. Seventeen Google reviews average 5 stars, which tells you something specific: clients aren't just satisfied, they're sending referrals. If you've got a renovation project in Stallings and want an honest scope and an accurate quote, call (704) 957-5323 to get started.

Stallings sits in Union County, and the housing stock here reflects that. A portion of homes were built before 1990, with the earliest neighborhoods dating back decades further, and older construction tends to carry deferred maintenance that reveals itself once renovation work begins. Roofs that looked serviceable until a kitchen remodel exposed water infiltration. Exterior siding that's been painted over instead of replaced. The Town of Stallings Planning Department handles zoning permits while Union County Building Code Enforcement issues building permits for construction projects, and we work through that process on your behalf. Permit requirements in Stallings cover decks, porches, fences, sheds, and pool installations, so there's no cutting corners on documentation. We've worked with Union County's process and know what it requires.

What We Handle for Stallings Homeowners Stallings

One contractor across all the trades most homeowners need, from roof to floor.

Roofing

Repair and full replacement, with every valley getting proper ice-and-water shielding. Older Union County homes frequently have layered shingle situations that need to be evaluated before any new roof goes on.

Kitchen Remodel

Full scope, from cabinet layout through tile work and fixture installation. The owner coordinates every phase so you're not managing five different trade relationships at once.

Bathroom Remodel

Complete bathroom renovations and standalone tub replacement. Both full remodels and single-fixture swaps are in scope. You don't need a full gut job to get the result you want.

Siding and Exterior Work

Siding replacement, exterior repairs, and full exterior renovation for homes that need more than a coat of paint. Sharon Ruiz noted siding and painting specifically in her review. That's a common combination on Stallings homes.

Handyman and Interior Repairs

Drywall repair, painting, vent covers, and the smaller jobs that other contractors decline. Robin Christopher got a fast response on a cracked vent cover job that other handymen had declined because it was too small a job.

Decks and Outdoor Structures

Deck construction and repair in Stallings requires permits through Union County Building Code Enforcement. We handle the permit process and build to the 12-inch minimum frost depth required by North Carolina code.

How a Renovation Project Works With Us

  1. 01

    Estimate and Scope

We walk the job with you, identify what the work actually requires, and write a neatly itemized estimate. Robert Persinger described his as 'perfectly detailed and very reasonable'. That's the standard, not the exception.

  2. 02

    Permits and Scheduling

For work that requires a building permit in Stallings, we coordinate with Union County Building Code Enforcement before a single tool comes out. No surprise stop-work orders.

  3. 03

    Execution and Walkthrough

The owner is on site through the project. Andy Malenke's kitchen came in on time and on budget. Liz Zimmerman's bath conversion proceeded with consistent communication at every step. That's the pattern.

Local Knowledge

Older Stallings Homes and What They Need

A portion of Stallings' housing stock was built before 1990, and Lakewood Knolls goes back to the 1940s. That era of construction was built well, but it wasn't built with modern moisture management in mind. Stallings sits on deep Coastal Plain soils that drain somewhat poorly, which means moisture works its way up through crawl spaces and under slabs in ways that newer homes in drier soil profiles don't experience the same way. Union County Water draws from multiple sources including the Catawba River, and the system has reported certain contaminants above EPA health guidelines. That context matters for any home improvement work touching plumbing fixtures or water-adjacent areas. We scope bathroom and kitchen projects with that in mind. If your Stallings home is more than 30 years old, a renovation project is also an inspection. We're going to tell you what we find, not just what you asked about. That's not upselling. It's the honest thing to do when you're opening up walls or pulling a roof.

What Stallings Area Homeowners Say

5.017 verified Google reviews
Clint did such a great job helping us replace some outdoor vent covers. We had a basket style vent cover that had cracked and birds had nested inside. We had previously tried other handymen that would say they would come out and never showed because it was a small job. Clint came out very quickly, in the rain, and made it so much more efficient and esthetically pleasing. He was very affordable and professional. Clint is the MAN! He will now be our go to guy for other projects. I highly recommend him!

So, I just wanted to first of all thank Liz for the great referral to get my home project done. I was a bit nervous however after meeting Clinton, I can’t thank him and his team enough for the job well done to my satisfaction. Clinton listened to what I wanted and delivered just that. Clinton not only listened also very professional and knowledgeable. He gave me a step by step timeline and actually stuck to it. That’s very rare to find in a contractor however his team was awesome and went above and beyond my expectations with the attention to detail. So my rating is really a 10/10. I had a simple garage make over.

Let. Me . Tell . You . Something . Clint is GREAT! He’s done a major project on my home and I couldn’t ask for a better experience with a general contractor . Our current project is converting a half bath to a full bath downstairs . And as I’ve stated everything has been great and it’s not complete but I’m that pleased with the way things have come along to write a review . Communication is very important in things like these and he is nothing short of amazing with his communication and professionalism ! If there was ever a doubt on who to select for your next project , don’t doubt . Reach out to Greater Charlotte Contracting !

We absolutely love our new kitchen. Clint was so easy to work with. Communication through the whole process was outstanding, the job was completed on time and his initial quote was very accurate with nothing going over budget. I highly recommended Greater Charlotte Contracting and will be using them again for future projects.

Had a great experience working with Clint and Greater Charlotte Contracting. He did great work in a reasonable amount of time and for a reasonable price. I have had a few home projects I’ve needed to complete within the last few months and he has not only provided me great service with these projects, but also has had great referrals for work outside of his scope of business. I would highly recommend anyone looking for work to be done in the Charlotte area to work with Greater Charlotte Contracting.

Questions About Renovation Work in Stallings

Do I need a permit for a deck or porch addition in Stallings?
Yes. Stallings requires permits for porches, decks, fences, sheds, and pool installations. The Town of Stallings Planning Department handles zoning permits, and Union County Building Code Enforcement issues the actual building permits. We work through that process for you, pulling permits is part of the scope, not an afterthought. If a contractor in Stallings tells you a deck doesn't need a permit, that's a red flag. Contact Greater Charlotte Contracting for an accurate picture of what your project requires.
My Stallings home was built in the 1970s or 1980s: what should I expect when renovating?
Pre-1990 construction in Union County frequently turns up deferred maintenance once walls open up or a roof comes off. Common findings include outdated sheathing under siding, layered roofing that needs a full tear-off rather than an overlay, and bathroom moisture damage that's been patched but not corrected. Stallings' somewhat poorly draining soils also push moisture into crawl spaces over time. We scope older homes honestly and tell you what we find. Every job is different. Contact Greater Charlotte Contracting for an accurate estimate.
How far does Greater Charlotte Contracting travel to serve Stallings?
Stallings is well within our regular service area. We cover the broader Greater Charlotte region, including Union County communities like Stallings, Weddington, Indian Trail, and Mint Hill. For Stallings homeowners, scheduling is straightforward and we're not charging you a travel premium to get there. Available Monday through Friday, 8AM to 6PM. Call (704) 957-5323 to set up a time.
Will renovation work on my Stallings home require an exterior footing for a deck or addition?
If your project involves any exterior footing, North Carolina requires a minimum frost depth of 12 inches, and footings must extend below that line and at least 12 inches below finished grade. Stallings' Coastal Plain soils are deep and moderately permeable, which affects how footings behave over time. We build to code and coordinate the inspection process through Union County. Every job is different. Contact Greater Charlotte Contracting for an accurate estimate based on your specific project.
Can Greater Charlotte Contracting handle both roofing and interior renovation on the same Stallings home?
That's one of the reasons homeowners in this area call us rather than managing multiple contractors. Roofing, siding, kitchen work, bathroom renovation, and exterior improvements all fall within our scope. For older Stallings homes especially, it often makes more sense to address the exterior envelope first before spending money on interior finishes. We can sequence the work in a way that makes structural sense, not just whatever's easiest to schedule. Call (704) 957-5323 to talk through what your home needs.
Does the Energy Saver NC program apply to renovation projects in Stallings?
North Carolina launched the Energy Saver NC program in January 2025, offering rebates for energy-efficient upgrades like heat pumps, electrical panels, and insulation. If your Stallings renovation includes any of those components, it's worth checking current program eligibility before the project scopes out. We can help you identify which portions of your project might qualify. Every job is different. Contact Greater Charlotte Contracting for an accurate estimate that accounts for your full scope.
