Home Renovation From One Contractor

Greater Charlotte Contracting is a full-service general contractor for home renovation, covering the Greater Charlotte metro and surrounding communities. The owner has over 20 years of hands-on construction experience and shows up on every job personally. Whether it's a kitchen remodel, a roof replacement, or a tub swap, one contractor handles it start to finish. Call (704) 957-5323 to talk through your project.

Home renovation scope varies enormously from job to job. A simple repair might take a day. A full-home remodel involving the kitchen, bathrooms, and exterior could run several months, with material costs, existing conditions, scope of finishes, and permit requirements all pulling the final number in different directions. Older homes in particular can surface surprises once work begins. Every job is different, contact Greater Charlotte Contracting for an accurate estimate.

What One Contractor Actually Covers

From the roof down to the basement, the scope here is broad and the owner is on-site for all of it.

Roofing

Repair, replacement, inspection. Twenty years of roofing experience is what this business was built on, and it shows in how thoroughly the work gets done.

Painting

Interior and exterior painting done by the same contractor who handled the rest of the project, not a separate trade brought in at the end.

New carpet installed in an empty bedroom

Flooring and Drywall

Hardwood, tile, LVP, and carpet installation alongside drywall work. A flooring contractor you don't have to find separately.

Why It Matters

Honest Scoping, Not Inflated Prices

The owner says it plainly: you get what you need, not what pads a quote.

That's not how this works. Every estimate from Greater Charlotte Contracting is itemized clearly, scoped to what the job actually requires, and explained in plain language. Andy Malenke put it this way after his kitchen renovation: his initial quote was accurate with nothing going over budget. Robert Persinger called the estimate 'neatly itemized, perfectly detailed, and very reasonable.' Those aren't accidents. That's what happens when the person writing the estimate is the same person who's going to be on-site doing the work. If a repair is the right call, we say repair. We won't upsell you on a replacement to run up the total.

The Process

How a Renovation Project Goes

  1. 01

    Estimate and Scoping

We walk the project with you, ask the right questions, and put together an itemized estimate that doesn't leave anything vague. No surprise line items later.

  2. 02

    Scheduled Execution

Work runs on a clear timeline you'll know up front. Esther Dueberry noted that Clinton 'gave a step-by-step timeline and actually stuck to it.' That's not common. It should be.

  3. 03

    Owner On-Site Throughout

This isn't a company where the estimator and the crew are two different people you never see at the same time. The owner is hands-on at every phase.

Clint did such a great job helping us replace some outdoor vent covers. We had a basket style vent cover that had cracked and birds had nested inside. We had previously tried other handymen that would say they would come out and never showed because it was a small job. Clint came out very quickly, in the rain, and made it so much more efficient and esthetically pleasing. He was very affordable and professional. Clint is the MAN! He will now be our go to guy for other projects. I highly recommend him!

So, I just wanted to first of all thank Liz for the great referral to get my home project done. I was a bit nervous however after meeting Clinton, I can’t thank him and his team enough for the job well done to my satisfaction. Clinton listened to what I wanted and delivered just that. Clinton not only listened also very professional and knowledgeable. He gave me a step by step timeline and actually stuck to it. That’s very rare to find in a contractor however his team was awesome and went above and beyond my expectations with the attention to detail. So my rating is really a 10/10. I had a simple garage make over.

Let. Me . Tell . You . Something . Clint is GREAT! He’s done a major project on my home and I couldn’t ask for a better experience with a general contractor . Our current project is converting a half bath to a full bath downstairs . And as I’ve stated everything has been great and it’s not complete but I’m that pleased with the way things have come along to write a review . Communication is very important in things like these and he is nothing short of amazing with his communication and professionalism ! If there was ever a doubt on who to select for your next project , don’t doubt . Reach out to Greater Charlotte Contracting !

We absolutely love our new kitchen. Clint was so easy to work with. Communication through the whole process was outstanding, the job was completed on time and his initial quote was very accurate with nothing going over budget. I highly recommended Greater Charlotte Contracting and will be using them again for future projects.

Had a great experience working with Clint and Greater Charlotte Contracting. He did great work in a reasonable amount of time and for a reasonable price. I have had a few home projects I’ve needed to complete within the last few months and he has not only provided me great service with these projects, but also has had great referrals for work outside of his scope of business. I would highly recommend anyone looking for work to be done in the Charlotte area to work with Greater Charlotte Contracting.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a home repair and a home improvement?
A repair restores something that's broken or failing to its previous condition. An improvement upgrades or changes the function, layout, or finish of a space. Practically speaking, the line blurs constantly. A roof that leaks is a repair; adding ice-and-water shield up every valley while we're up there is an improvement. Greater Charlotte Contracting handles both in the same project without making you hire twice.
How do I know if a general contractor can handle my specific project?
Ask what they've done that's similar, and ask who will actually be on-site. With Greater Charlotte Contracting, the owner has hands-on experience across roofing, kitchens, bathrooms, siding, flooring, and exterior work, and he's present at every job personally. That's a different answer than a company that manages multiple crews and may never see your house themselves.
What drives home renovation costs up or down on a typical project?
Scope is the biggest factor. After that: existing conditions (older homes hide surprises behind walls and under floors), material selections (tile grade, fixture brand, cabinet construction), whether permits are required, and how accessible the work area is. Cosmetic updates to a clean, accessible space cost less than structural or hidden-system work in a house that hasn't been touched in decades. Every job is different, contact Greater Charlotte Contracting for an accurate estimate.
What should I have ready before calling a general contractor?
A rough description of what you want done and any photos you can take of the current condition. You don't need drawings or a firm budget. The estimate conversation is where scope gets defined. Knowing what's bothering you about the space, what you want it to do, and any timeline constraints gives the contractor enough to start a real conversation and build an accurate estimate.
Can a single contractor handle roofing, interior remodeling, and exterior work on the same home?
Yes, and it's actually simpler that way. Managing separate roofing, remodeling, and exterior trades means coordinating schedules, resolving conflicts between contractors, and tracking multiple scopes of work yourself. Greater Charlotte Contracting covers all of it under one contractor, which means one point of contact, one timeline, and one person accountable for the finished result. Homeowners in the area consistently mention that as a reason they come back for the next project.
How do general contractors handle unexpected problems found during a renovation?
The honest answer is that surprises happen, especially in older homes. Rotted sheathing under siding, plumbing that isn't where the plan assumed, subfloor damage under tile. A contractor with real hands-on experience, like the owner at Greater Charlotte Contracting, identifies likely problem areas during scoping and flags them upfront. When something unexpected does surface, it gets communicated immediately, documented, and resolved before work continues.
