Handyman Work Done by a 20-Year Tradesman

Greater Charlotte Contracting provides handyman services across the Greater Charlotte metro, handling the interior and exterior repairs that pile up on a homeowner's list. Clint, the owner, has 20-plus years of hands-on construction experience and shows up personally to every job. If your drywall has a hole from a doorknob, your vent cover cracked, your tile grout is failing, or you've got three small fixes you've been ignoring for six months, this is the call to make. Five stars across 17 Google reviews, and the reason most of those reviewers come back for a second project. Call (704) 957-5323 to talk through what you need.

Handyman services at Greater Charlotte Contracting cover drywall repair and installation, tile work, vent and cover replacements, exterior repairs, interior fixes, and a range of general home improvements that don't require a dedicated specialty contractor. What makes a job take longer or cost more is usually access, the condition of what's behind the wall, or how many repairs compound on each other once work begins. We scope it honestly upfront rather than expanding the job once we're in your house. Every job is different -- contact Greater Charlotte Contracting for an accurate estimate.

What Handyman Services Actually Cover

Most people underestimate how broad the list is.

Drywall Repair and Installation

Holes, cracks, water stains, and full panel replacements. We tape, mud, texture, and finish to match what's already on your wall. Small patches don't get a pass on quality.

Marble-look subway tile and a niche going into a new shower

Tile Work

Cracked tiles, failing grout lines, loose bathroom or kitchen tile. We set it right the first time rather than caulking over problems that will surface again in two years.

Interior Fixes

Door adjustments, casing repairs, baseboards, and the category of jobs homeowners keep deferring. If it's inside your house and needs a skilled hand, we'll tell you straight whether it's a handyman job or a larger project.

Finished backyard storage shed with double doors

Deck Repairs and Small Builds

Rotted boards, loose railings, and minor structural repairs. When the scope grows into a full rebuild, we handle that too -- take a look at our deck work for larger projects.

Gutter and Vent Work

Vent cover replacements, clogged gutter repairs, and exterior fixture work. We don't send a new face every visit -- the same person who scoped the job comes back to finish it.

Red Flags

What to Watch For When Hiring a Handyman

  1. 01

No-Shows Are the Norm in This Category

Robin Christopher put it plainly in her review: she'd tried other handymen who said they'd come and never showed because the job was small. Clint came out in the rain. If a contractor won't commit to a date or goes quiet after the estimate, move on.

  2. 02

    Watch the Scope Expansion

Any contractor who finds ten new problems once they're inside your wall may be padding the job. We scope it before we start, quote it clearly, and Andy Malenke's review says it exactly: the initial quote was accurate with nothing going over budget.

  3. 03

    Ask Who's Showing Up

A lot of handyman services are dispatchers. The person who gives you the quote isn't the person who knocks on your door. With Greater Charlotte Contracting, Clint scopes it and Clint does the work. That's the accountability difference.

Our Process

How a Handyman Job Works With Us

Simple from the first call to the last cleanup.

  1. 01

    Call and Describe the Work

Tell us what you're dealing with. We ask the right questions upfront so we can give you a realistic picture before we schedule a visit. No vague answers.

  2. 02

    Honest Scope and Estimate

We look at the job in person, tell you exactly what it involves, and give you a clear estimate. If something's outside handyman scope and needs a larger project, we'll say so. No inflation, no upsell.

  3. 03

    Work Done, Site Left Clean

We show up when we said we would, finish what we scoped, and clean up before we leave. Victoria Hitchcock noted Clint showed up on time, guaranteed his work, and cleaned up after. That's the standard, not the exception.

What Customers Say About the Small Jobs

5.017 verified Google reviews
Clint did such a great job helping us replace some outdoor vent covers. We had a basket style vent cover that had cracked and birds had nested inside. We had previously tried other handymen that would say they would come out and never showed because it was a small job. Clint came out very quickly, in the rain, and made it so much more efficient and esthetically pleasing. He was very affordable and professional. Clint is the MAN! He will now be our go to guy for other projects. I highly recommend him!

So, I just wanted to first of all thank Liz for the great referral to get my home project done. I was a bit nervous however after meeting Clinton, I can’t thank him and his team enough for the job well done to my satisfaction. Clinton listened to what I wanted and delivered just that. Clinton not only listened also very professional and knowledgeable. He gave me a step by step timeline and actually stuck to it. That’s very rare to find in a contractor however his team was awesome and went above and beyond my expectations with the attention to detail. So my rating is really a 10/10. I had a simple garage make over.

Let. Me . Tell . You . Something . Clint is GREAT! He’s done a major project on my home and I couldn’t ask for a better experience with a general contractor . Our current project is converting a half bath to a full bath downstairs . And as I’ve stated everything has been great and it’s not complete but I’m that pleased with the way things have come along to write a review . Communication is very important in things like these and he is nothing short of amazing with his communication and professionalism ! If there was ever a doubt on who to select for your next project , don’t doubt . Reach out to Greater Charlotte Contracting !

We absolutely love our new kitchen. Clint was so easy to work with. Communication through the whole process was outstanding, the job was completed on time and his initial quote was very accurate with nothing going over budget. I highly recommended Greater Charlotte Contracting and will be using them again for future projects.

Had a great experience working with Clint and Greater Charlotte Contracting. He did great work in a reasonable amount of time and for a reasonable price. I have had a few home projects I’ve needed to complete within the last few months and he has not only provided me great service with these projects, but also has had great referrals for work outside of his scope of business. I would highly recommend anyone looking for work to be done in the Charlotte area to work with Greater Charlotte Contracting.

Repairs That Connect to Bigger Projects

Sometimes a handyman call uncovers something larger. A cracked vent cover leads to a soffit repair. A tile fix reveals a moisture problem behind the wall. We don't manufacture those discoveries, but when they're real, we have the depth to handle them. Greater Charlotte Contracting covers roofing, tub replacement, exterior work, and full restoration for water or storm damage. You don't have to manage five separate contractors if the scope grows. One number, one point of contact, one person who already knows your house. We serve homeowners across the region including Pineville, Matthews, Indian Trail, Cornelius, and Stallings, Monday through Friday, 8AM to 6PM.

Frequently asked questions

What do handyman services typically include?
At Greater Charlotte Contracting, handyman services cover drywall repair and installation, tile work, vent and cover replacements, exterior trim and fixture repairs, interior fixes like baseboards and door adjustments, minor deck repairs, and general home maintenance tasks. The dividing line between a handyman job and a larger project depends on scope and structural involvement. We'll tell you honestly which side of that line your job falls on before we commit to a price.
What are the biggest red flags when hiring a handyman?
No-shows top the list. The handyman category has a serious reliability problem, especially for smaller jobs. After that, watch for vague estimates with no line items, contractors who find new problems every visit without explaining why, and anyone who can't tell you clearly who will actually do the work. If a contractor goes quiet after the estimate, that's your answer. We show up when we say, quote accurately, and Clint handles the job himself.
Can you handle multiple small repairs in one visit?
Yes, and that's often the most efficient way to book us. Homeowners frequently have a list of three to six smaller repairs that each feel too minor to schedule separately. We can walk through the full list, scope everything honestly, and knock out multiple repairs in a single visit rather than scheduling five separate appointments with five separate contractors.
How does drywall repair get priced for handyman-scale jobs?
For smaller drywall repairs, cost is driven by the size and location of the damage, whether the texture needs to be matched, and how many layers of finish are required to blend properly. Patching a single doorknob hole is straightforward. Repairing water-damaged drywall that needs texture matching across a larger area takes more time. Every job is different -- contact Greater Charlotte Contracting for an accurate estimate.
Do you take on small jobs or only larger remodels?
We take both. The owner's business description says it directly: no job too big or too small. Robin Christopher left a review specifically because Clint came out in the rain to replace cracked vent covers after other handymen passed on the job for being too small. Small jobs matter and they get the same attention to detail as a full kitchen remodel. The work is just less of it.
What should I have ready when I call about handyman work?
A plain description of what needs fixing and, if possible, photos of the area. You don't need contractor vocabulary. Tell us what you're seeing, how long it's been a problem, and roughly where it is in the house. That's enough to have a useful first conversation. We'll ask follow-up questions and can usually tell you whether it needs a site visit before we give you any numbers.
